Meet Dr. La Rocca
Dr. La Rocca earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the New York University College of Dentistry, where he was awarded the prestigious Dean’s Merit Scholarship, which he maintained throughout all four years of his dental education.
During his time at NYU, Dr. La Rocca demonstrated a strong commitment to clinical excellence, leadership, and mentorship. He served as the Head Student Clinician of his Group Practice and as President of the Xi Psi Phi Dental Fraternity. Through these leadership roles, he actively mentored fellow dental students, fostering their professional growth and clinical development.
Upon graduation, Dr. La Rocca was honored with the Dr. Sidney I. Silverman Award, recognizing his exceptional clinical skills and dedication to patient-centered care.
Following dental school, Dr. La Rocca completed a General Practice Residency at the VA Palo Alto Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident. He received advanced training in comprehensive dental care, encompassing restorative dentistry, prosthodontics (including complete and partial dentures), endodontics, periodontics, laser dentistry, implant dentistry, and oral surgery. His residency also provided extensive experience treating patients with complex medical histories and specialized healthcare needs.
As part of his postgraduate training, Dr. La Rocca also gained valuable clinical and hospital-based experience at Stanford Hospital, where he further developed his skills in oral and maxillofacial surgery, dental implant placement, orofacial pain management, and the management of complex surgical cases. This experience strengthened his ability to provide comprehensive care while prioritizing patient safety, comfort, and individualized treatment.
Dr. La Rocca is committed to combining advanced clinical training with a compassionate, patient-centered approach, helping patients achieve and maintain healthy, confident smiles.
Dr. La Rocca is a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the Special Care Dentistry Association, the Xi Psi Phi Supreme Chapter Board, and is a member of the Spears Study Club. He also serves on-call at the Kaiser and CPMC-Sutter hospital networks.
